Margaret Scanlan

Artist Information

Margaret Scanlan was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1944 and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Webster University, where she studied with sculptor Rudolph Torrini. Her graduate degree is from the University of Tennessee, where she had her first solo gallery exhibition in 1981. For years she was affiliated with the Suzanne Brown Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona; Abbott & Holder in London, England; the Kenny Gallery in Galway, Ireland; and Gallery Goodchild in Renaze, France. She has been represented by Bennett Galleries in Knoxville, Tennessee, since 1988. She is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, and the Watercolor USA Honor Society. She plays keyboard in the Irish Band Red-Haired Mary.
