Kitty Picks Out Our Wallpaper - 30” x 40”

Between Dreams and Memories - 40” x 30”

Like reaching to grasp the visuals of a dream as they dematerialize, Shane Miller's encaustic body of work makes a viewer ache with longing for more: more immersion, more understanding, more tactility. Unlike reaching for a dream, Shane's work always offers more: more emotion, more variety, more understanding of one's self.

Shane's work is felt first and understood second. Just as his layers of oil paint are suspended in sheets of encaustic wax, his viewer is suspended in an ardent longing and understanding prompted by a soulful experience. Inspired by a sense of nostalgia, the work feels like a silenced emotion, a childhood home, and a potent future in simultaneous measure.

Working in oil and wax on board and canvas, Shane builds into his dreamscapes a reverence for past memories. the moments feel fleeting, but are born of complex layers of paint and wax which ensure an everlasting opportunity for desiderium.

And It Goes Like This - 48” x 48”

Toni Swarthout has worked for three decades as a contemporary abstract artist. Her work is ever-evolving, limitless in form and style. “Art is the language that I speak. And, that language is always fluid and shifting”. Swarthout’s work sometimes exudes a quiet, meditative quality, while other times displaying a boisterous and animated experience for the viewer.

Swarthout’s work is non-objective and organic, deriving from authentic movement and thought. She is always pushing herself to unveil new methods of language and experience, never settling for an end to her creative process. “Just like in life, art gives me opportunities to express myself; to learn and listen; to receive and respond to the everyday flow.”

Swarthout is inspired by so many masters of art. Rothko, Kandinsky, Twombley, Hoffman and Mitchell to name a few.
