Artist Information
Rooted in the woods of upstate New York, my artistic journey began with childhood adventures, collecting rocks, wood, and clay alongside my artist mother. She, my first teacher, ignited my passion for stones and wood, now an inseparable part of my being. From oil to acrylic, we explored various mediums, crafting art from foraged treasures.
As a full-time artist, the trinity of rock, paper, and wood has defined my journey. Starting with colored papers, I evolved to crafting pigmented pieces and now elevate my trademark style with Japanese paper, employing batik resist, mono printing, textiles and sewn areas of paper for refined finishes.
Sculpting, another facet, blends sacred stone figures with welded brass, bronze, and copper. Stones from local streams and gifted wood compose my larger, taller sculptures, each piece holding memories of its origin. Master artist my partner of 26 years Anton Weiss, shaped my meticulous work ethic, guiding my success in various mediums.
My art, housed in the TN State Museum and private collections abroad, reflects a love for nature and divinity. Teaching and mentoring allow me to share, learn, and celebrate the profound connection between art and the human spirit. My work, an organic journey, invites viewers to delve deeper, seeking a liberation of their own spirits.
